The Indonesian Arts and Culture Scholarship

25 April – 29 July 2011

A. BACKGROUND

The Indonesian Arts and Culture Scholarship has been conducted since 2003 and was initially offered to and participated by member countries of the South West Pacific Dialogue (SwPD); Australia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, the Philippines, Timor-Leste, and the host Indonesia.

Bearing in mind the significance and advantages obtained from the program, the offer was expanded over the years to include member countries of ASEAN, ASEAN+3, and PIF, as well as India and South Africa. In 2008, Indonesia welcomed the participation of Azerbaijan, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, and the United States. Since 2009, Austria has joined the program and in 2010 the Government of Indonesia has given the opportunity for participants from France, Germany, Italy, Russia, Spain and Suriname. This year, Indonesia will invite participant from Hungary, Poland, the Czech Republic and Turkey to join the program.

Humber offers full tuition renewable scholarships for qualified incoming international students beginning classes in September of each year.

Full Tuition Renewable Scholarships

Humber offers three full tuition renewable scholarships (Approximate value $12,200 CAD). These scholarships are available for NEW international students only (two offered in September and one offered in January of each year).

Applications will be considered based on academics, community involvement, referee/reference letters and statement of interest. Renewal of the scholarship will be based on the student’s ability to maintain a 70% GPA in each year of his/her program at Humber. An application form will be included with your acceptance package. The scholarships will be applied toward the successful students’ tuition fees.

Bachelor’s Degree Scholarships

These academic scholarships (available to academically qualified incoming students) are awarded at the time of offer based on the following high school/secondary school grade point average:

* 75-79.9% – $1,500 (one-time)
* 80-84.9% – $2,000 (renewable)*
* 85-89.9% – $3,000 (renewable)*
* 90-94.9% – $3,500 (renewable)*
* 95% or above – $4,000 (renewable)

Bachelor’s Degree scholarships are available to students coming directly from high school/secondary school studies, who are non-transfer students (i.e. haven’t attended college or university, or studied in Humber’s EAP program), and are unlimited in quantity.

COMMUNITY COLLEGE INITIATIVE PROGRAM 2012


 

This international educational exchange program enables individuals to study at a community college in the United States to develop professional skills.

Eligible fields are Business Management and Administration; Tourism and Hospitality Management; Health Professions, including Nursing; Media; Information Technology; Agriculture; and Engineering Science.

ELIGIBILITY

To apply to the program, candidates must:

  • Have completed a secondary school education; D1, D2, D3 and S1
  • Preference will be given to High School Diploma
  • Applicants with a Bachelor’s degree are eligible if they are applying in a field different from the field of their degree and have relevant work experience in the field for which they are applying.
  • Applicants with MA or PhD degrees are not eligible to participate.
  • Have relevant work experience in the field in which they are applying;
  • Have English language skills that provide a basis for enrolling in academic coursework;
  • Submit a complete application;
  • Minimum Institutional TOEFL score 500 or TOEIC score 650 atau IELTS 5.0 (only scores less than 2 years old are valid).

The Office of Academic Exchange Programs in the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the U. S. Department of State, is pleased to announce a new exchange program for undergraduate students-the 2012 Global Undergraduate Exchange Program (Global UGRAD)

The Global UGRAD Program provides scholarships for one semester or one academic year of U.S. Study in a NON-DEGREE Program. The goals of the program are to provide a diverse group of emerging student leaders, from non-elite and underrepresented groups in Indonesia and East Asia.

Latar Belakang
Rifka Annisa Research and Training Center (RA-RTC) adalah lembaga di bawah Federasi Rifka Annisa Yogyakarta. Rifka Annisa Research and Training Center mempunyai komitmen untuk membangun kapasitas sumberdaya manusia dalam upaya penghapusan kekerasan terhadap perempuan di Indonesia. Pengalaman lebih dari lima belas tahun mendampingi perempuan korban kekerasan di Yogyakarta telah melahirkan pengetahuan dan keahlian yang unik tentang bagaimana bekerja langsung dengan perempuan korban kekerasan serta melakukan upaya-upaya lain dalam kerangka advokasi isu kekerasan terhadap perempuan di Indonesia. Pengetahuan dan keahlian yang unik ini melahirkan modul-modul pelatihan, desain-desain asistensi teknis dan assesment serta riset-riset aksi.

Korean Government Scholarship Program 2011 for Indonesian


The Korean Government Scholarship Program is now available and open for Indonesian graduate students through Hankuk University of Foreign Studies. For applicable fields and major please click here.

The selection process for scholars will proceed in three steps:

  1. Applicants must be selected by one of the following organizations: an embassy, an adoption association, or a university (including Korean embassy).
  2. Applicants who passed the first step must be selected by the NIIED Selection Committe.
  3. Applicants who passed the second step must gain admission from a university.
